The first part of this article is a must read. I was totally unaware of the overwhelming success of Portugal's decision to decriminalize drug use in 2001. The evidence appears to be compelling the logical argument is persuasive (criminalization keeps addicts from seeking treatment and fuels a violent for profit criminal subculture while perpetuating a cradle to jailhouse culture).
