It's not the individuals that play the game, it's the game itself that people love.
The average fan can block out all the off the field dysfunctionality. Once you bring it on the field and in front of the camera before or during a game people will reject it and turn it off. Everybody in society has their own personal problems and the last thing we need when we are setting down to be entertained is a Kapernik crying about his version of what he defines racism.
