And he could have continued to freely express it WITHOUT BECOMING PRESIDENT.

He spent 18 months pursuing the job, but now that he has the job he wants no part of the restraint, thought and deliberation that are fundamental parts of the job. Truth be told, he seems intent on using his position to go after people and groups he doesn't like while favoring others.

I'm sure at this point you'll come back with yet another of your unimaginative rejoinders along the lines of "Nowhere is it written in the Constitution that the POTUS has to be a wise, unifying force in our society..."
