Carly fiorina said it this morning, journalists don't just report the news, they shape it. They give it context and texture. Or they deny context and texture.
A partisan D and a partisan R can witness the same event and report it differently.
Likewise a loyal fan of missouri and a loyal fan of kansas can describe a game between the two very differently. While both get the score and statistics correct, the emphasis and the drama described by both will likely be very different. They both can put quotations around a statement and "get it right" but they will not provide the same background and explanations.
Does any of this make sense to you?
