acknowledge their mistake?
What I am hearing is the media weather guessers giving themselves credit for saving lives by sounding the alarm to evacuate most of Florida.
These brilliant people who can tell us within 1° what the temperature in Antarctica will be in 100 years, could not accurately predict the path and strength of this hurricane. Two days before it hit.
Not blaming them for being off with their predictions. It is an exact science and they did the best they could. But please don't tell me what the weather will be like in the year 2150, and you can't chart the path of a hurricane two days before it hits.
And I will try to spare JG, the pickle, Silas, and the raskol some humiliation here. I am not saying the storm was not awful. Not saying that huge damage was not done. Not saying that evacuations in some areas saved lives.
I am saying that the forecast was way, way overstated. I would like for the political scientists, who predict the weather to acknowledge that.
And ask me to believe what they say about whether a hundred years from now. Even if their sources are above reproach.
