Today it was sunny to partly cloudy all day and the light breeze came back. It was still hot, though. I went back to my storage unit near the lake and put things up on milk crates just in case it floods. While doing that I found some things that were beneficial, a propane camping double burner, a canister of propane (thank goodness because the new 24 hour Super Walmart a block away was closed by 2:00) and a box of candles of all shapes, sizes, scents and even some bug candles. I also found some more charcoal for my grill.
I went over to a Mizzou Friend's condo to take him another case of water then got talked into helping his neighbor pull the hardtop to his Mercedes convertible out of storage and put it on the car. I didn't really want to do it, but he is an older man and was stressing out over it. It turned out to be not so difficult and didn't take as long as I thought it would. He was extremely grateful and relieved and offered to pay me but I refused.
Most businesses and all the banks were closed by the afternoon except for Publix Grocery Store, a few gas stations (still busy as Hell) and a couple fast food restaurants.
I pulled everything out of my refrigerator and freezer, prioritized and repacked both with more food. I now have more food than I can eat in a year stuffed in there.
Well...One more restful night tonight, but tomorrow night will probably keep the hair standing up on the back of my neck all night.
