Usually, there is a light breeze rustling the tops of the trees, but not today.
There are long, long lines backed up into the streets at gas stations that have gas (the majority do not) and at those that are out, people are camped out in front of the pumps waiting for the next tanker truck to arrive.
All the hotels are booked up, no rental cars are available and thousands of people without airline tickets are going to the airports. Officials are trying to get them to leave because the airports are not shelters. More and more flights have been cancelled leaving even more people stranded.
I need to go to my storage unit and pick up a couple gas cans so I will have extra gas if I can ever get some. I'll also pick up my charcoal grill so I will have something to cook on once the power goes down. I need to go fight the crowd at Lowe's and see if they have any batteries left. I have plenty of battery operated lights and flashlights, but only rechargeable batteries.
I-95 North and the Florida Turnpike are parking lots and gas is hard to come by, so I think it's best for me to hunker down and shelter in place.
