It's not just Facebook it's the internet in general

Every nut job on the planet can find a legitimate looking web site that reinforces whatever bizarre beliefs they may have. There are 911 truther sites that appeal to JG idiots, there are loony fake financial sites like zerehedge that appeal to the cucumbers, there are sites that support the false belief that vaccines cause autism. The list is endless. All these nuts bury their head in these self reinforcing echo chambers and become more extreme in their views. This is the dark side of the web.
