...link down below where an MSU fan breaks down their team in some detail. Key quote about their D, and the main reason why Mizzou will move the ball at will:
"Inside, we need grinders who like to do the dirty work and stop the run. Right now this is where we are going to get gashed. Teams will run right up the gut against us with DT's who are 271 pounds at the 3-technique and 281 pounds at the nose. We might be able to make that work if they were the backups, but these are the starters. The backups go 256 pounds at the 3-technique and 270 pounds at the nose. Give Claudio Martin credit, as he has worked very hard to put on 30 pounds since last season to get up to 270, but that's just not big enough yet. Both reserve DT's are redshirt freshmen and that's just not a position you want to rely on freshmen. EJ Sutton, who starts at the nose, actually lost 12 pounds over last season, so they must want to rely on quickness inside, rather than girth. This is where the story of the defense will be told. Will they do the dirty work and have the strength to hold up inside?"
Mizzou's starting OL averages 6'5" and 326 pounds. Second string averages 6'4" and 311. The TEs average 6'5" and 257. All of these players move well and are athletic. Add two good blocking backs in Witter and Crockett.
Really don't like these games.
