pressure systems and kept from moving inland. When a storm front remains at sea guess what, it has access to more moisture.

Hurricanes are natural and have been around forever, especially over a warm water body such as the gulf. High pressure systems are natural and have nothing to do with climate change. What made this storm special is that you had a moderate sized hurricane make landfall near a huge population center. Inland you had two high pressure fronts in close proximity that stopped the storm from tracking inland as usual and losing access to the moisture needed to feed it. This, in essence, parked Harvey right over Galveston allowing it to continue feeding from the gulf and then dropping that rain on Houston for days.

Climate change did not create this, just a combination of nature and bad luck.

Mother Nature can be a capricious b*tch!
