I long ago called him pathological. I've read nothing that indicates it came from a dysfunctional relationship with his father, as one might expect. I will say that 20 or 30 years ago he could speak much better than now.

And I wonder where he got that compulsion to glue his thumb and forefinger together when he speaks.
