I've already seen multiple columns from writers that have no business speaking on the topic of science and more specifically weather and climate claim Harvey and the flooding are a direct result of climate change. They're not.
2) The Houston mayor actually did make a mistake. This surreal flooding is no surprise. At least not to anyone that paid attention. This forecast was one of the most accurate hurricane landfall forecasts in history. The ensuing flooding was projected at least two days in advance. Yes, 30"+ of rain in Houston was forecasted. Not evacuating at least the most vulnerable was irresponsible.
