My bet is the DA will try to intimidate, press for an out of court settlement. Overcharge the defendant as well.
The sad reality, is that the mercedes driver was in the middle of crowd pounding on his car with their hands, then a pole, and they panicked.
I doubt it's hard to convince a jury they were scared for their life.
The DA's going to try and avoid the trial by pointing out how expensive it will be, and that his deal would be a lot cheaper.
The person is probably looking at least 10K in lawyer fees, fixing the car, plus additional lawsuits.
