Employees in the private sector have the freedom to do what they wish. Be it abuse of people, drugs, alcohol, traffic laws, tattoos, protest, etc. he chose to protest in uniform.


Private employees have freedom to hire whom they chose.

This is a situation of an employee facing up to the choices they have made. Employment is not a right. Retaliation against an employee, however, may not be OK.
