Your first question seems rhetorical in its simplicity and stupidity. But since you took the time to ask, i shall take the time to answer.
Of course not. The opposing views on this or any board are what make it interesting and worthwhile. And i find it interesting on the rare occasion that a lib can make a salient point and articulate it well. Discussions that flow from those are worthwhile.
Similarly, your second question seems rhetorical as well. I do not dismiss libertarian points at all. I have a rather strong libertarian streak in me, not that you'll believe that. It is the way in which the points are made, or attempted to be made that is irksome. Flotsam and jetsam, spew and litter, pickle and silas are intellectually incapable of articulating a point, even if the point is fair and obvious. They are unworthy of serious discussion imo, and should be relegated to a JV board should one ever be offered. The children at an adult dinner party trying to get attention and wishing they could participate.
But they cannot.
I think everyone is above pickle. That is why i do not read his posts or reply directly to him. The raskol is fairly bright, but misguided and as most liberals are, so full of the righteousness of compassion and wisdom that he humiliates himself regularly as he has difficulty maintaining a consistent ideological thread through different issues and will argue any side of any issue as it suits him. A very superficial, sound bite, talking points liberal. Uninformed and proud of it.
I did not think it possible for anyone over the age of six to learn anything from the pickle. The fact that you did, and that you admit it is troubling.
And spare me the over the top purity of the so called libertarians. They and you, constantly exhibit a holier than thou or thou attitude, in their refrain of, "If you voted either R or D, you're part of the problem." I appreciate, respect and even support some of the "LEAVE ME ALONE" philosophy of the libertarians and i have great admiration for the tea party. But my goodness, the sanctimony and the oozing self righteousness of the libertarians is a bit much.
Your post seems to take on the aspect of a kindly intervention, offering to show me the way to salvation or enlightenment.
I appreciate the thought but not the deed.
