statues, will they start tearing down those of our founding fathers who associated with slave owners? You know, guys like Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, et al?

In no way do I condone slavery or anyone who would "own" another human being. But this nonsense has to stop. Like it or not, it's a disgraceful part of our history. If you remove all mentions of the confederacy, you're basically ignoring history and the awful institution of slavery that supported it. And frankly, you're not better than Isis. Hell, even Lenin and his gang didn't destroy the Czar's palaces, because they wanted them to remain symbols of oppression against the masses.

And, if you're going to tear down monuments erected in honor of Confederate generals and soldiers, you'd better tear down the ones that honor those who perpetrated the genocide against Native Americans. Oh, and don't forget any honoring bigots who discriminated against Catholics, the Irish, Jews, the Amish, Mormons and dozens of other groups.
