You know, since he is currently under criminal investigation and whatnot.
Intelligence told her that members of GOP Presidential Campaign were caught in multiple taps of Russian diplomats, suggesting something at the very least unethical... then due to the importance of knowing who that person is and the level of compromise, Rice is certainly within her rights to request an unmasking. Leaking that information to the press may not be legal, but we arent sure who did that and the press wont give them up.
