It appears that the MACC men’s program has become a recruiting pipeline for former University of Missouri coach Kim Anderson, who is now head coach at NCAA Division II Pittsburgh State University, Kansas.
Mar’Qywell Jackson (11.5 ppg, 4.3 rpg) and 6′9 Dietrich Cole (2.5 ppg, 2.4 rpg), both of Detroit, Mich., along with Jabari Antwine of Chicago (9 ppg, 4 apg, 3 rpg) , have all accepted scholarship offers to play at Pittsburgh State.
In addition, former Greyhound Chris Clark of Columbia (2014-2016) is transferring this fall to Pittsburgh State reported coach Smith.
But those four standouts are not the only names attached to the Greyhounds legacy that will be associated with coach Anderson this coming season.
Paris High School graduate Jon Gilliam (May, 2010), a former Greyhound who went on to play basketball at University of Central Missouri at Warrensburg under coach Anderson ,also has spent the last three years on MU’s staff with Anderson, and Gilliam follows him to become an assistant coach at Pittsburgh State. Meanwhile, MACC assistant coach Jason Owens is leaving the Greyhounds program and will now serve as an assistant coach at Pittsburgh State as well.
