Because our culture is a refudiation of theirs.
Some libbie on one of the news shows was talking about how this was the perfect time to reach out to Iran because young Iranians love our music and culture. They failed to realize that this is the reason they hate us.
Islamic culture is stuck in the 1200's, they have no desire to modernize. Our culture will always appeal to their youth. Therefore to survive they will need to actively battle western influences.
If we removed all of our bases in the Middleeast and stopped doing business tomorrow it would not stop the attacks.
