Nicest guy and very humble, but he uses his status and notoriety to continue to serve other veterans.
He bought a Veteran's cemetery out of bankruptcy to run it as a not for profit to provide reasonably priced funeral and burial services. They cemetery he manages is private, so he can let family members be buried with their spouses unlike the cemeteries at Higginsville or Leavenworth.
His MOH citation said as a corpsman assigned to a Marine unit he threw himself on a grenade to protect a wounded Marine he'd moved to in order to treat him. When the grenade didn't go off, he tossed it back at the enemy and continued to direct the other Marines to help evacuate the injured soldier.
