The Greatest Generation was just that. They rose together as one in sacrifice and defeated two enemies. Their leaders - who were not themselves of that generation - provided the GI Bill which in complement to other extant factors created the greatest middle class this world has ever seen.
You want to pick on a generation - pick on mine, the boomers who have clearly fcked everything up for the most part.
It is said that to be a "chip off the old block" references grandparents. And Millenials take much more after the Greatest Generation than the ME generation of the Boomers. To be fair, I am a very late Boomer and missed much of the fun.
