The house of Saud would be overthrown in less than 3 years without US military support.

Iran is a noncompliant state that must be punished as a deterrent to any other countries that might be tempted to disobey orders.

Don't be fooled by the hand waving. Trump is a natural bully so he is more enthusiastic about this mafia style tactic than Obama. But they both followed the same policy. It is just a change in emphasis combined with a more ham handed incompetence.
