you get some unamed source telling you that they have this juicy tidbit that trump gave up an isreali spy operation to the rusian ambassador.
it was pretty common knowledge who attended the meeting. there were 3 people besides trump and the russians.
do you think you would be doing your due diligence in corroborating the story if you didn't at least try to contact one of those three people? even if those 3 told you know comment. you would have at least tried.
without even attempting to get the other side this is simply, in my mind, not journalism. it's a hit piece based on shaky sources.
not too mention all the other things wrong with the story like the fact that trump can declassify pretty much whatever the f*ck he wants. so he wasn't breaking any laws. and yes that is in there but it's mentioned more as an aside than a major part of the story which it is.
