You really should say your thoughts out loud before hitting the post button. It would save you some embarrassment.
But if by trade schools you mean a focus on majors that provide value to society and allow the grads to find actual jobs in their fields then I would prefer trade schools.
Read this list of possible majors: Electrical Engineering, Biology, Mathematics, Accounting, Computer Science, Animal Sciences, Medical Doctor.
Compare to this list: Art History, Film Studies, Peace Studies, Black Studies, Women's Studies, [insert name of oppressed group here] Studies.
Which list does more to advance our civilization and at the same time put food on the plates of the degree holders?
Yes there is something to be said for a well rounded classical education but when you leave with a degree it should include some marketable skills.
People who rack up tens of thousands of dollars in student load debt for a degree that they enjoy but for which there is no market are idiots. Education is not the end game it is simply a door to a better life. If your education does not open that door for you then it was wasted time and money.
