some wont take it that way is bordering the absurd. Comey seemed to be in Trump's corner if he did, indeed, update Trump on three occasions that Trump was not under investigation.

That said, the timing of it is particularly bad. He was fired the same week that Grand Jury subpoena's were sent to Flynn and the same week that Comey asked for more resources be allocated for the investigation.

The really troubling part is that Trump gets to hand pick the guy who will handle the investigation into himself. The need for a special prosecutor is now paramount. Even if Comey was working on behalf of Trump, there was a buffer because Comey was not Trump's guy. Trump appointing a new guy will be a significant conflict of interest.

Please explain why this message is being reported.
