It is the court's role to interpret and apply the law. The average person would have no idea what they're reading in a court opinion. Just worry about electing people who will write the law the way you want it written and as long as they don't royally screw up, then things are fine. Unfortunately, most legislators these days are uneducated idiots and most congressmen are lackeys.
