Fester is kind of an oaf but he has a point. If climate change is real and serious do they need to fudge and cherry pick the data? In a real crisis the data speaks for itself. If you tell me there is an F-3 tornado headed my way I will take precautions you don't have to make like it is an F-5.
The issue here is that climate scientist have been suckling from the government teat for so long that they have to keep the threat level elevated out of fear that their funding will move on to the disaster du jour.
Get government, and more importantly politics, out of the picture and let scientist do their sciencey stuff. The truth will come out. Until then we should explore renewable energy sources and work to clean up the environment. But the furor here is more about progressive politicians grabbing power than about the future of the human race.
