Update on Self being the worst NCAA tourney coach in history

Bill Self is coaching in his 14th NCAA tournaments at ku encompassing 44 games. He has 32 tourney wins, of which the avg seed of the opponent is an astonishingly low 10.5 seed. 81.3% of his tourney wins have come over teams with an 8 seed or worse. Only 6 times in total out of 44 games under Self has ku defeated a team seeded higher than 8 in the bracket, or 13% of the victories could be considered ‘quality wins’ by most standards.

An amazing 5 times ku under Self has been knocked out of the NCAA tournament by a team seeded AT LEAST 8 seeds below them, meaning 38% of their tournaments have ended in ‘disastrous upsets’ by most standards. In fact, 3 times in a 6 year period Self was awarded the ESPY for the worst upset in all of sports for that given year. Not in college basketball, all of sports.

Its pretty easy to get to 4, but beyond that I’m not sure what would be considered great wins. I guess maybe beating Southern Illinois a decade ago?
