For those with issues with the Martin hire......who was

better? What National Championship coach were we supposed to get? Martin has won everywhere he has been. He has rebuilt programs. He has won in the NCAA tournament. Who else was better?

You can argue all you want for this coach and that coach. But the truth is NONE of those coaches including Martin has won the ultimate prize. So in that respect they are all on the same level. They have all won. They have all rebuilt programs. They have all been to the tournament. They have all won in the tournament. So what makes any other coach better than Martin?

My argument FOR Martin is not that he is the best coach for Mizzou.....but the best FIT for Mizzou. With his ESL roots and connections he is positioned to be the better recruiter for Mizzou than any of those coaches. That in turn means he would get better talent here and thus have better success. Also, with him being from the area this could be considered "home" for him and thus will hopefully NOT bolt when he gains success and other schools come calling.

If anyone has better "reasoning" for why another coach would be better......please enlighten me as to how.
