party has no plans, policies or positions other than anyone who disagrees with them on any financial or social issue, or believes differently than them as to the role of government is either a bigot, homophobic, xenophobe, misogynist, social Darwinist or any combination of some or all of those things, plus a few more that aren't mentioned.
The atmosphere is indeed toxic, and it is because the value of controlling the levers of power (read money) is worth all to those folks. The everyday citizen means beans to these people, other than to keep them stirred up and voting based on all the ridiculous promises they make in the name of the federal government.
