for an NCAA bid. My 2 key stats of the game:
1. Only 12 turnovers in 45 minutes. That's outstanding for Mizzou. After Doty turned the ball over twice in the first minute of play on our first two trips down the floor, we had just 10 turnovers in the last 44 minutes.
2. Sophie played 43 minutes, out of 45. Didn't foul out. Was on the court during every important minute of the game, unlike other games and losses where she couldn't control her aggressiveness and it cost the team.
We had to have this game. I still don't think we will make the NCAA tourney, but there are several opportunities left to make a case. Need to start by going 3-0 in the next 3 games @ Arkansas, and Auburn and Kentucky at home. Because the 2 games after that are certain losses, @ Miss State and @ Tennessee. This 6 game stretch that started last night with TAMU is the toughest stretch of the season.
