The teams that win, win big, on a consistent basis are the ones who have the better recruiting classes. The 2 and 3 star "athlete" programs have their occasional "stars align" seasons but they aren't consistent and certainly aren't elite.

Great recruiting doesn't translate into great seasons if the coaching isn't comparable. But mediocre recruiting doesn't produce consistent winning no matter the coaching.
