feel the need to be the center of the universe. I want them to be highly skilled athletes who are willing to learn and coachable. I want them to be self starters and good students. I want them to be law abiding, and respectful in their conversation.

If you can't check most of the boxes on that list, you may have a problem with them down the road, and I would rather avoid someone like that as opposed to someone who can check all the boxes.
