And I'd argue tickets sold is probably the more important metric, $$$$$. And when everyone else does it that way, it makes sense to match.
I would also think that trends won't really change, relatively speaking. If you're seeing a decrease in "butts in seats" you are probably seeing a similar decrease in tickets sold and vice versa.
And as an example, that won't apply to us now... or maybe ever, if you "sell out" do you really care if 100 people didn't show up?
Now, at this moment is this likely an attempt to skew data? Absolutely, but as long as we stick with this metric for awhile and don't change constantly it will be just as meaningful in the future.
