Tuesday. The two days after opening weekend of deer season. Kids would miss class anyway. Also, could legally quit school after eighth grade. Could also get a drivers license at the age of 14. All farm related. Optional "early bird " school classes started at 5AM so kids could get back to the farm and help combining. Loved it.
