I think the coaching in the league is a bit underrated. The league has been a bit unlucky on the mid major prospects that got hired. A bunch of high profile guys just fell on their face (Pelphrey, Anthony Grant, etc.) Still, I think there are a number of quality coaches in the league:
-Frank Martin is a hell of coach who took over a terrible situation and has improved. I'd put him as the #2 coach in the league.
-Jury is still out on Mike White but he had a nice resume coming in. This year should be a big year for him there either way.
-Avery Johnson was a nice hire at Bama, even if NBA coaches are shaky.
-I'm optimistic for Bryce Drew at Vandy.
-This board has discussed Howland ad nauseum but he can flat out recruit (and Rick Barnes is similar too).
-Andy Kennedy is in a place that is a disaster for basketball and has kept them semi-relevant.
