Prior to 2013-14, MU had never had a team avg less than 12 assists per game over the course of a season since they started officially keeping assists as a stat. The two worst assist years in MU history were the final two seasons of the Quin Snyder era when we avged 12.4 and then 12.0 assists per game. Those were also 2 of the 3 lowest scoring MU teams in terms of ppg since 1965 until Kim's first season, so there wasn’t an abundance of made baskets to generate assists from.
In 2013-14 we established a new program low of 10.1 assists per game. In 2014-15 we avged 10.7 assists per game. In 2015-16 we avged 11.7 assists per game. So we are on a 3 year run of basically the worst assist teams in program history since they created and officially started tracking the stat.
In Friday’s exhibition win over a DII opponent, MU totaled 12 team assists.
