7 matches to go, 5 against mediocre teams with lousy RPIs, and Florida and Kentucky. I think that balances each other out and we stay somewhere in the 16-22 range. It would really help us if we could split against Florida and UK, but that's going to be tough. We have a shot with Crow back at least. Don't think we will sweep those two teams though.
Sure wish now we had not blown that 2-0 set lead at home against Utah, then blown the 5 set loss to Miami Ohio the next day. Utah turned out to be a top 25 team. If we would have taken care of business that weekend in Columbia we would be sitting at 21-2 right now, ranked about 18-20 in the poll, RPI in the middle/low teens.
The early win against Pitt keeps looking better and better though, as they have beaten both Michigan and North Carolina now.
I still think we are not going to get a top 16 national seed and host at home in the NCAAs. Maybe if we run the table, but even then probably not. But if we finish strong, go 6-1 in the last 7 matches, which means finding a way to upset either Florida or UK, then we will get a #2 seed in a regional against one of the lower national seeds, and a chance to pull off an upset and get to the round of 16.
