J'den Stands Alone
As J'den Cox enters his senior year with a third NCAA title and the Hodge Trophy on his mind, those awards appear to be ripe for the picking again. Cox stands alone as the best guy in this weight by a long shot. His bronze medal-winning showing at the Rio Olympics proved he's one of the two or three best in the world. Even without that incredible performance, Cox is still potentially the biggest favorite in the country.
The rest fell into place through the No. 6 spot, then it gets a bit murky. West Virginia's Jake Smith comes in at the No. 10 spot. He had some strong wins throughout the year.
Look for Kollin Moore to climb the rankings quickly. He didn't have a terribly busy or successful redshirt year, but we saw him make the Junior World team and the improvement he's made this year. Combine that with the construction of this field and Moore could be on the fast track for top 10 status.
Another wrestler I could see moving is Marcus Harrington of Iowa State, who checks in at 17. Ultimately from about No. 11 on, it's a very even group of unproven wrestlers.
