Elite recruits for the 2017-18 season...

have been locked up for awhile now. As noted below of the top 8 recruits listed as being committed to play in 2018 (according to the commitment list on goldfastpitch softball), there are just the 2 in state players, Martin and Bailey.
The 2017-18 recruiting class is loaded and I saw they were ranked #5 by one recruiting site. Besides the 2 Missouri kids the other recruits include the following:
Kara Decker, Kentucky, P/OF
Lauren Rice, Illinois, P
Tajiah Ellison, Arizona, 2B/OF
Brooke Wilmes, Iowa, IF/OF
Hattie Moore, Texas, C/OF
Trenity Edwards, Oklahoma, C/3B
Nice national recruiting flavor to that class but no Cali kids. EE has some great pitching talent lined up the next 3 years, with Parker Conrad this year, Rice next year, and Danielle Williams from Cali the following year. Rice was hitting 70mph on the radar gun as a freshman in high school. And Williams could be the best of all three of them. You just hope at least 2 of these 3 pitchers is the real deal and stays all 4 years. I thought a few years ago we were set to have one of the best pitching staffs in the nation for several years running with elite recruits Finucane, Stangel, and Lowary coming in and look how that turned out in the long run.
Hope all 8 of those recruits still show up in a year. That will be the first big test to see that the program has stabilized after the recent crap.
Don't know much about the local kid from Tolton that MizzouTom mentions below. There is a local kid who verbally committed for the following year, a junior at Rock Bridge named Delaney McDannold who was 2nd team all state.
