Great article from 2014 that matches win% with spread

Basically we have about a 22% chance of winning. At least teams that are 10 point dogs have only won Their matchup 22% of the time. Yes teams are different, but that's the history of how they turn out. I think it's good objective information for all of us to be aware of the next time someone says point spreads are purely perceived betting lines. A win would certainly destroy the odds.
