Interesting tidbit from the Trib:
MOTIVATIONAL VOICES: Former Missouri and NFL standout defensive end Justin Smith gave the Tigers a motivational talk on Thursday.
“He did a great job — as Justin only can do — on talking about trying to outwork your opponent and about really playing tough and physical and not leaving anything to chance and busting your ass — all the things that make Justin Smith, Justin Smith,” Odom said. “There’s not a lot of gray area with him. He called a couple guys out in the crowd, and it was awesome.”
Smith, a Jefferson City native who retired after the 2014 season, is back living in the area. Odom wants to make him a presence around the program.
Odom also recently brought in Brian Smith, who is entering his 19th season as Missouri’s wrestling coach, to talk to the team.
“I absolutely admire everything he does,” Odom said, “and he gave a great message to our team.”
