Just my preliminary opinions to provoke some healthy discussion.
1. Tenner. I think they finally break through. Talent is higher thanks to years of better recruiting, but one stumble and they might not take it. After all, Butch gonna Butch. Won't matter anyway. They will get obliterated in the SEC Championship game by LSU.
2. Florida. His team still has holes, but Jim McElwain proves that last year wasn't a fluke. He's a really good coach who is still plugging vacancies left by Muschamp. This year the Gators won't quite have enough to overtake the Vols, but It'll be close.
3. Missouri. Tigers find an offense with a solid running attack and decent passing, and will surprise most of the pundits. The defense will be almost as good as last year, but the offensive line will be exposed against better teams. The Tigers will fall at LSU, at Tennessee and at Florida.
4. Georgia. Kirby Smart will eventually be a good head coach, but Georgia will lose a close game in Columbia, allowing the Tigers to slide in ahead of them.
5. Vanderbilt. Derek Mason's defense keeps the Dores respectable in most games, but they just don't have the offensive firepower to finish higher.
6. Kentucky. The Wildcats will be a solid team, but unfortunately have a buzzsaw of a schedule that will probably make their record look worse. Stoops may be in hot water after a 2-6 SEC finish.
7. South Carolina. Champ is a good defensive coach, but the Cocks are bereft of talent and have a new coach who won't overcome his own limitations. 0-8 in conference.
