volunteer with several other white women from her Dellwood church to work at a food pantry at a Ferguson church. They finally quit when the road was blocked to elderly white women who were easy to target while black drivers were allowed to pass freely.
When the check engine light came on in her car, I told her to take it to an auto parts store, have them scan it with a scan tool, and call me with the code. "I can't...they burned down the place I went."
My cousin's son-in-law was on the front lines pretty often, so there was that to worry about.
My mother's black pastor chose to minister to the police officers who were getting spat on and cursed at nightly....for giving them someone to unburden themselves to, he got called an Uncle Tom from a black pastor in the pulpit of another congregation of the same faith.
My mother owns her condo and another rental unit not far from that bullsh*t.....with the decline in property values, she is now upside down in the rental unit and the value is unlikely to ever come back. If anything happened to her, I'd have the pleasure of calling the bank and telling them the key is under the door mat and it's all theirs.
And since she is old, white, moves slowly thanks to some hip and knee issues, and drives a nice car, I have to worry about her being an easy target for a robbery/car jacking when she's going just about anywhere near her home.
