A tyrant appears and tyranny ensues, The people rise up and overthrow the tyrant. The people are happy but become fat lazy complacent and stupid. A wannabee tyrant sees the people are fat lazy and stupid and enslaves them again.

We are in the fat lazy complacent and stupid about to be enslaved again phase, The tyranny will be much harder to throw off now cuz it will be high tech.
