People will say socialism failed in Russia ect. But that wasn't socialism. Not even in theory. It literally was the total opposite of what Marx wrote about. Not to mention the civil wars, the foreign wars, and starvation that was hitting Russia at the same time as this 'political transition' -- which Marx made clear needed to occur at a time of abundance, which can be brought forward with capitalism -- which is why capitalism is so highly praised in the Communist Manifesto.
Then there's the many forms of socialism that often get lumped into one category under the name socialism.
There's a lot to say. More than I'm willing to put forth in effort right now.
