I like to quote Mark Twain, who countered the line from Shakespeare "shall I compare thee to a summer's day" or the popular "what is so rare as a day in June". He said that anybody who thinks that summer is so special has never been in Missouri in October.
Lately in my more mature years, I'm beginning to appreciate spring more and more.
As the Byrds said in Turn! Turn! Turn! "To every season..."
1) Fall - college football, Oktoberfest in Germany, and Thanksgiving
2) Spring - St. Paddy's! and getting back outside for chrisesakes
3) Summer - Cardinal's baseball, backpacking in the Rockies, and traveling in Europe
4) Winter - Christmas, scotch by roaring fires, Mardi Gras
