I have read the Brothers Karamazov several, but have recently begun to appreciate Tolstoy more and more. The final lines of Anna K are spectacular. In fact, I picked up a first edition hard copy of Essays by Tolstoy at the library the other day for $2. Just a collection of essays, so no big whoop. It is Tolstoy on Christianity and Religion. That mthrrckr was unreal. Learned Greek when he was 50 so he could read the classics in the original. Dostoyevsky died to young.
