Ladies and gentlemen, let me begin by congratulating donald trump on winning the republican nomination for president of the united states.
Mr trump and i as you all know, have had some serious disagreements on policy and his attacks on me, my wife and father i think were disgraceful. I can neither forgive nor forget the insults that he made to my family. But this is a time bigger than my feelings and bigger than his boorish behavior during the campaign. This is and should be a turning point in american history and a good choice now must be made to lead this country in a new direction away from the disastrous policies of obama and what would be a continuation and acceleration of those policies under hillary clinton.
I urge everyone, republican independent and democrat to do what is best for our nation at this perilous time. Vote for the man who can defeat clinton and begin to restore our nation to the prominence it had and must have again. I urge everyone to vote for donald trump for president, in 2016. And maybe for ted cruz in 2024.
..............
He could also have said all that other stuff about freedom, the constitution, etc. He would have looked principled and patriotic. Not petty and pathetic.
