Positions you don't agree with: pandering to interest groups.

Positions you agree with: what's best for america.

Someone else might make the claim that pro-life, small government, pro-gun rights, low taxes is also pandering to specific sets of white voters, and that social safety nets, progressive tax systems, pro-choic and gun control are what's best for the country as a whole.

The problem is that the groups that dems pander to is growing. the groups that Repubs pander to is decreasing.
